Caminando Por La Paz - Guaatemala is sponsoring a GoFundMe effort to support the Producers of our Family Coffee.

The effort is to provide the necessary funding to the producer to enable them to begin construction of solar drying areas for their coffee. The success of this effort will improve the quantity and quality of their coffee. To donate use the link below.

Why is a solar dryer important?

One of the many processes in preparing coffee for roasting is the drying of the coffee cherries (coffee beans). This is done once the outer pulp has been removed. Our producers currently dry the coffee on the ground. This works well and is the standard process. However with a solar dryer more of the moisture is removed from the coffee beans and thus the coffee is in a superior state when taken to the processing plant.
